Set at the base of Haytor on Dartmoor The Moorland Hotel boasts 11 acres of landscaped grounds, paddocks and woodland. Wild ponies are often found grazing nearby and the open expanse of the moor provides adventurous walking, challenging cycling along with breath taking views. Steeped in history The Moorland Hotel saw Agatha Christie write her very first novel over a two week stay, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. Ava Gardner, Robert Taylor and Mel Ferrer et al have also been guests whilst the hotel stable horses were recruited to star in the film 'Knights of The Round Table'.

The Moorland Hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment and will be fully open in June 2018. Aiming for a 4* rating visitors will be greeted with stylish bedrooms, finished using the highest quality furnishings, brand new bathrooms and a selection of rooms that provide stunning views of the moorland landscape.
